AUGUST 3RD, 2012 WE OPENED A COFFEE SHOP ON PÄRNU MNT 9 IN TALLINN, ESTONIA

The Living Room Cafe was founded in 2012 with lofty ideals and discontent with poor quality overpriced coffee and food. Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: Everywhere we went...poor quality, old, stale coffee, being hawked as "gourmet". It tasted more like liquid cigarette butts than what true, freshly roasted coffee should taste like. Greasy, premade food, or good food at way too high prices. People paying for ambience, not product. (this equals not good.)

It turns out there was a simple explanation. The coffee retail market  is dominated by companies that have been able to keep prices artificially high while reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options. We started the Living Room cafe to create an alternative.

By circumventing traditional business models and making good food and coffee a higher priority than profit and deceptive advertising, and having student volunteers and food and coffee lovers involved daily,  we’re able to provide higher quality, better tasting  coffee and food at lower prices.

We believe that drinking coffee and enjoying a snack or meal should be relaxing, fun and within every student's budget. It should leave you happy and satisfied with money in your pocket and hopefully a smile on your face.

We have found the very, very best green coffee beans available anywhere in the world. Our farm gate suppliers, pay the farmers 150-200% MORE for their coffee than Fair Trade. So you could call it "fairer trade". Fair trade is also not available to single farms and farmers, only co-ops. So our farm gate coffee suppliers reach further with their trade. They are true coffee lovers where quality is more important than bottom line or hype.

There’s nothing complicated about it. Good coffee, good food, good prices, good outcome.

AUGUST 2014, THE LIVING ROOM CAFE OFFERED CRAFT SPECIALTY COFFEE ON THEIR MENU WITH A VARIETY OF BREWING METHODS
